Mini-Symposium

H. Numerical Simulation of Complex Flows

The numerical prediction of complex flows has been an active area of research for the past decades. There are challenges that remain to be tackled; for instance, the flow is three-dimensional, unsteady, non-Newtonian, non-isothermal and can possess moving free surfaces. Nevertheless, many researchers have developed numerical methods that are capable of solving complex flows that can be helpful to the design and production process.

This minisymposium is intended to gather researchers, engineers and students working on the development of numerical methods to simulate complex flows. Numerical investigations employing finite differences, finite volumes, finite elements, among others, are expected. Contributions involving confined, multiphase and free surface flows are welcome.

Organization: Members of the ABCM Committee on Reology and Non-Newtonian Fluid Mechanics.
